ANU MakerSpace Pop-Up

ANU MakerSpace Pop-Up

Kambri Cultural Centre (Groundfloor facing Tangney Road)
Kambri Precinct – 154 University Ave, Acton ACT

Event Description

The ANU MakerSpace is a space and community where people learn by doing. We believe that inter-disciplinary environments breed creativity, and that everyone has something they can teach everyone else. We are a commons for curiosity – an environment, furnished with resources for people to experiment, investigate, prototype, and solve problems. Our aim is to empower users with confidence to be life-long self-learners and makers.

As a part of Uncharted Territory, we’ll be opening our newest space to the Canberra public. The ANU MakerSpace Pop-up is furnished with a range of advanced tools such as 3D printers, laser and vinyl cutters, soldering and electronics test equipment, hand tools and power tools, along with staff to help show you the ropes.

We’ll also be running a series of workshops throughout the festival. These are guided experiences aimed at teaching the basics of some of our most accessible technologies, such as mould making, vinyl cutting, 3D printing, laser cutting and even sewable electronics.

Ages: Suitable for ages 12+, children under 16 require an accompanying adult.

Participant requirements: No prior experience needed, closed toe shoes mandatory.

Drop-ins are welcome during our opening hours!

Capacity will be very limited during our workshop events on weekday evenings, so we recommend avoiding the workshop times linked below, or registering to attend them!
