Juncture Exhibition and Panel Discussion

Drama Theatre, Kambri Cultural Centre
Kambri Precinct – 154 University Ave, Acton ACT

Event Description

Juncture brings together a collective of emerging artists from Canberra; Rory Gillen, Sophie Dumaresq and Emily O’neil. Each creating work exploring the realm of emerging technology. With a particular focus on the ever-evolving concept of labour in the age of generative applications such as Chat GPT and DALL-E, this pioneering initiative challenges the conventional narratives surrounding these tools.

Juncture presents a passionate response to the critical issue of labour in emergent technologies. By reframing the notion of innovation beyond the traditional Silicon Valley perspective, Juncture shifts the spotlight onto ethical and sustainable labour practices rather than technological development, as the field in which we should seek to innovate.

This installation will explore the vibrant intersection of arts, technology, and academia in Canberra.

A panel discussion by artists of the Juncture exhibition. will be on Saturday 8th July at 2.00pm.
