Event Description
In a world-first project, Australasian Dance Collective debuts their thrilling combination of technology and art in Lucie In the Sky, merging the beauty of dance with the cutting-edge technology of drones.
Be transported to a world where lines between humanity and technology blur, sharing vulnerability, hopes and fears. Drones become characters with their own personalities. Complex relationships are thrust into the spotlight, as we explore the balance of power and our deep-seated need for each other. Peers. Companions. Friends. Foes.
Get ready to suspend disbelief in this boundary-pushing performance as a new world is created on stage.
Lucie In the Sky is presented in Canberra as part of the Uncharted Territory festival. Running from 7-16 July, artists, entrepreneurs and researchers will intersect, showcasing uncharted territories in innovation, art and science.
Lucie In the Sky was developed in conjunction with a significant research and education program developed and delivered in partnership with ADC, World of Drones Education and Australian National University’s School of Cybernetics.
Lucie In the Sky is presented by Canberra Theatre Centre in partnership with Uncharted Territory and the Australian National University School of Cybernetics. Lucie In the Sky is supported by the Restart Investment to Sustain and Expand (RISE) Fund – an Australian Government initiative and Queensland Performing Arts Centre.
